Due to overwhelming demand, producers have announced that I’m Sorry, Prime Minister will extend its run at the Apollo Theatre by two weeks, now concluding on 9 May 2026.

The production, which marks the final chapter of the beloved Yes, Minister series, will begin performances on 30 January 2026, with press night scheduled for 12 February.

Following successful runs at The Barn Theatre, Theatre Royal Bath, and Cambridge Arts Theatre, I’m Sorry, Prime Minister becomes the first West End transfer for The Barn Theatre.

BAFTA Award-winner Griff Rhys Jones returns to the West End as Jim Hacker, joined by Clive Francis as Sir Humphrey Appleby, reprising his role from the Barn Theatre production.

Written and directed by Jonathan Lynn, co-creator of Yes, Minister and Yes, Prime Minister, the play is co-directed by Michael Gyngell.

New production images featuring Griff Rhys Jones and Clive Francis have been released and are available to download.

From the mind of Jonathan Lynn comes a sharp and satirical look at political life in retirement. Jim Hacker is back — older, but perhaps not wiser — and still baffled by the real world.

Hoping for a quiet retirement as Master of Hacker College, Oxford, Jim finds himself cancelled by the college committee. Enter Sir Humphrey Appleby, who remains a master of bureaucracy and obstruction.

Can the duo outwit students, Fellows, and reality itself? Or is it finally time to say, I’m Sorry, Prime Minister…?

Brimming with nostalgic brilliance and razor-sharp wit, this final instalment promises political comedy at its most timeless — and timely.
