Greg Barnett hosts a new live concert series – Live at Lola’s – opening with a festive theatrical celebration on 8 December 2022 at Lola’s Underground Casino at The Hippodrome, in the heart of the West End.
New Frame Productions and Wild Mountain Productions will follow up their successful Monday Night at the Apollo and West End Acoustic shows, with the launch of Live at Lola’s.
Greg Barnett will host the intimate evenings of music and theatrical chat, inviting audiences ‘behind the curtain’ for up close and personal interviews with some of the most popular stars of stage and screen.
On 8 December, the inaugural line-up of guest performers will include Christine Allado (The Prince of Egypt, Hamilton, In The Heights), Hadley Fraser (City of Angels, Chess, 2:22 A Ghost Story), Isaac Hesketh (Legally Blonde, Rent, The Book of Mormon) and Carly Mercedes Dyer (Anything Goes, The Color Purple, A Chorus Line). Featuring special memories from throughout their careers and ovation-worthy performances of their favourite songs, Live at Lola’s will showcase these leading lights of musical theatre as you’ve never seen them before.

Live at Lola’s is coming to Lola’s Underground Casino at The Hippodrome, what can you tell us about the shows?
Live at Lola’s is a brand new Musical Chat Show, right in the heart of the West End, with stars of stage and screen singing some of their favourite songs and chatting about some of their most cherished memories from their careers and lives.
Think a musical theatre version of the Graham Norton show!! It will be an intimate night of music and chat where we can find out a little more about some of Britain’s top stars and be swept away by their incredible voices.
There will be the chance for audience members to pose some questions and hear some fun, interesting and hilarious stories. With our first show being on Thursday 8 December, we may even start to get ourselves in the Christmas spirit!
This follows on from the successful Monday Night at the Apollo and West End Acoustic shows, what did you learn from those events for this new run?
We were lucky to be able to put these shows on during the pandemic and were invited to be part of Nimax’s Rising Stars Festival, which helped kickstart the West End back up and running again. The shows played to capacity houses and rave reviews and ignited our passion to make this kind of show a staple in the West End.
The main thing we learned from doing them was just how much talent we have in British theatre and that when we can get a few of these incredible stars together on stage in this format, we’re all in for a cracking night at the theatre!
Tell us about some of the guests you’ll have for the first night?
We’re so excited about the four ridiculously talented guests we have for the next show. We’ve got Christine Allado – star of In the Heights, Hamilton, Prince of Egypt. Carly Mercedes Dyer – star of A Chorus Line, The Color Purple, Anything Goes. Hadley Fraser – star of Phantom of the Opera, Young Frankenstein, Chess. Isaac Hesketh – star of Book of Mormon, Rent, Legally Blonde.
I can’t tell you how much I’m looking forward to sharing the stage with these four heavyweights of theatre and being up close and personal as they sing us the songs that inspire them.
What are the challenges for you as host of the night?
My job as host is to try and make sure the night runs as smoothly as possible within the timeframe of the evening. I won’t lie, it’s sometimes hard to keep track of time, especially as these stars have such incredible stories and anecdotes to share!
Why does Lola’s Underground Casino make the perfect venue for this kind of show?
Lola’s is a wonderfully spacious venue with a perfectly intimate feel. It gives the audience the chance to be up close and personal with their favourite stars in a relaxed and friendly environment. The bar is open throughout the show, so we can all sip a Christmas cocktail or two, sit back, relax and get blown away by the music.
What would you say to anyone thinking of booking to come to Live at Lola’s?
There are some performers that are so highly sought after, they’re rarely available for one night shows. We’re lucky to have four of the best of them on stage at the same time. Chances of seeing them all together again like this are slim and, believe me, it’s not one you want to miss. It’s going to be an eclectic night of music and talent; there really is something for everyone!!
Look forward to seeing you there.
