Jesus Christ Superstar has announced the release of exclusive on-stage standing tickets priced at £25 for every performance of its upcoming London Palladium engagement.
For the first time in the venue’s history, audience members will be able to stand on stage throughout the show, immersed in the production and close to the performers.
The on-stage tickets go on pre-sale for those aged 30 and under today, 7 May, with general release opening on 8 May.
The production begins performances at the London Palladium on Saturday 20 June and runs until Saturday 5 September 2026, with a press night scheduled for Tuesday 7 July.
Director Tim Sheader said: “This isn’t just watching a story unfold; it’s being inside it. You’ll feel the heat of the lights, the pulse of the orchestra, and the energy of the performers. Ten years on from our original production, we wanted to find a way to bring people even closer to the pulsing heart of this piece – and there’s no more powerful place to experience it than from within the action itself.”
Sam Ryder stars as Jesus in his stage debut, joined by Tyrone Huntley as Judas Iscariot, Desmonda Cathabel as Mary Magdalene and David Thaxton as Pontius Pilate.
King Herod will be played by a rotating cast including Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Simon Russell Beale, Richard Armitage, Boy George, Layton Williams and Julian Clary across the season.
The wider cast also features Bob Harms, Matty J, Billy Nevers and Phil King, alongside an ensemble of performers completing the company.
Directed by Tim Sheader, with choreography by Drew McOnie and design by Tom Scutt, this revival reunites the creative team behind the acclaimed Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre production.
Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s rock musical tells the story of the final days of Jesus Christ through the eyes of Judas, featuring songs including I Don’t Know How to Love Him, Gethsemane and Superstar.
