Following the success of Homo Alone and last year’s record-breaking Lovers Actually, writers Jodie Prenger and Neil Hurst are set to return to The Other Palace Studio with a new Christmas comedy, Frigid Jones’s Diary: The Unauthorised Comedy Parody.
Running from 13 November 2026 to 3 January 2027, the new production puts a cheeky spin on one of the UK’s most iconic romantic comedies, bringing Frigid Jones and her famously chaotic love life to the stage in a festive musical parody packed with larger-than-life characters, awkward encounters and plenty of festive mischief.
Prenger, known for Coronation Street and I’d Do Anything, returns to The Other Palace for a fourth consecutive Christmas season alongside co-writer Neil Hurst, whose stage and screen credits include Fat Friends The Musical and Casualty.
The production follows Frigid Jones as she navigates romance, embarrassment and questionable life choices, with the familiar love triangle at the heart of the story transformed into a fast-paced comedy packed with live music and powerhouse vocals.
Speaking about the new show, Prenger said: “Let’s be honest, it was about time Bridget Jones got The Other Palace Christmas parody treatment! This is based on one of the most iconic rom coms of all time and is packed with all of the best bits – Love triangles, reindeer jumpers, blue soup and plenty of vodka. The production promises a festive evening of irreverent humour, familiar characters and musical parody, following in the footsteps of previous holiday hits at The Other Palace Studio.
