ABS Productions has announced the full cast for the world premiere of Expecting, with John Bradley, Joe Dempsie, Katie Leung and Jamie-Lee O’Donnell set to star in the new play at Riverside Studios.

Written by Scott Elmegreen and Drew Fornarola, and directed by Andy Sandberg, Expecting explores why couples are waiting longer to have children, or choosing not to have them at all.

The production will run from 30 January to 27 March 2027 as part of the Mainstage Season at Riverside Studios, with tickets on sale from today.

John Bradley, best known for Game of Thrones and 3 Body Problem, stars alongside fellow Game of Thrones actor Joe Dempsie. They are joined by Bridgerton and Harry Potter star Katie Leung, and Derry Girls and Screw actor Jamie-Lee O’Donnell.

In Expecting, Zoey and Ethan are deciding whether to start a family while navigating careers, relationships and the realities of modern life. Meanwhile, Zoey’s sister Trish is already juggling the demands of parenthood, prompting both couples to question what they truly want from the future.

The announcement comes as tickets also go on sale for Sacrilegious, a new comedy by Academy Award-winning writer Tom Schulman, which runs from 5 December 2026 to 23 January 2027.

Described as a sharp and provocative comedy, Sacrilegious follows an idealistic young rabbi who challenges the billionaire president of his congregation over a multi-million-dollar donation, sparking a battle over morality, power and principle.

Sacrilegious marks Schulman’s first original stage play. The Oscar-winning writer is best known for Dead Poets Society, as well as films including What About Bob? and Honey, I Shrunk the Kids.

Both productions form part of the five-play Mainstage Season at Riverside Studios, curated and directed by Tony Award-winning producer Andy Sandberg, who serves as the season’s artistic director.

Further productions, casting and creative teams for the season are expected to be announced in due course.
