John Owen-Jones (The Phantom of the Opera, Les MIserables) will play Abraham in the concert performance of the acclaimed new British musical The Clockmaker’s Daughter on 16th June.
Also cast are Christine Allado as Constance, Fra Fee as Will, Lauren James Ray as Amelia, Graham Hoadly as Mayor Glynn and Wendi Peters as Ma Riley.
They will be joined by members of the Original Studio Album Recording: Barry Keenan Seán Carey, Caroline Kay, Matthew McCabe, Rebecca Gilliland, Leah Pinney and Alan McHale with additional casting still to be announced.
Set in the fictional Irish town of Spindlewood, The Clockmaker’s Daughter is a musical fairytale built around themes of prejudice, discrimination, animosity and a fear of the unknown. Like most towns of age, Spindlewood has its traditions. But no practice, custom or old wives’ warning is so firmly adhered to as ‘The Turning of the Key’.
John Owen-Jones is a record-breaking West End and Broadway actor and singer and is best known for his critically acclaimed and award-winning performances as Jean Valjean in Les Misérables and as The Phantom in The Phantom of the Opera. Other credits include: Sweeney Todd (ENO), Showboat (Royal Albert Hall), A Little Night Music (National Theatre), Tiger Bay, The Bill and Scott and Bailey. He has performed leading roles in stage concert versions of The Hired Man, Sweeney Todd and South Pacific and will soon be seen playing Jean Valjean in the Les Misérables All Star Concert at the Gielgud Theatre, London.
John has released five solo albums which he also produced. ‘Hallelujah’ EP (2006) ‘John Owen-Jones’ (2009), ‘Unmasked’ (2011) ‘Rise’ (2015) ‘Bring Him Home’ (2017) and ‘Spotlight’ (2019).
The one-off concert will take place at Cadogan Hall on Sunday 16th June at 6.30pm.
