Little Angel Theatre announce a vibrant new season for Spring 2025 with three brand new shows for a range of ages and the return of some beloved classics including:

The world premiere of ‘Overheard In A Tower Block’ (ages 7+) as former Children’s Laureate and award-winning writer Joseph Coelho adapts his vivid and poignant poetry about growing up in the city for the stage (24th May – 27th July 2025, Little Angel Theatre).

For younger audiences, new show ‘Krafty The Urban Fox: Tales from the Tower Block’ (ages 3-5) runs alongside and follows the adventures of an urban fox and friends in the city at night (24th May – 27th July 2025, Little Angel Theatre)

The world premiere stage adaptation of Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s joyful classic ‘A Squash and a Squeeze’ (ages 3 – 8, 1 Feb – 27 Apr 2025, Little Angel Studio, followed by UK Tour) is brought to life by the Olivier-nominated team behind the ‘The Smartest Giant in Town’ and ‘Charlie Cook’s Favourite Book’ both in the West End this Christmas.

Julia Donaldson’s beautiful story about childhood, memory and magic ‘The Paper Dolls’ (ages 3-8) returns to Little Angel in this co-production with Polka Theatre (17 May – 20 July 2025, Little Angel Theatre).

After winning rave reviews and delighting young audiences, there will be another chance to see ‘Little Angel Theatre’s Miniature Travelling Circus’ (ages 2 – 5, 15 Feb – 19 Apr 2025, Little Angel Theatre)

‘The Prison Project’ Little Angel’s newest ‘Suitcase Show’, a special programme of small-scale performances designed to reach audiences unable to visit a traditional theatre, aims to re-connect children with their incarcerated family members at prison family days.

Thousands of children engaged in Little Angel’s work in primary schools across the country this year. ‘Story of Stories’ will be the latest project to ignite young imaginations and celebrate the power of storytelling as KS2 children brainstorm and bring to life their ideas using props and puppets.

Little Angel Theatre Artistic Director Samantha Lane and Executive Director Peta Swindall introduce the new season:

“We are thrilled to share our Spring/Summer 2025 season – a celebration of storytelling, creativity, and the magic of puppetry. From the poignant adaptation of Joseph Coelho’s Overheard in a Tower Block to the joyful premiere of Julia Donaldson’s A Squash and a Squeeze, our lineup promises to captivate audiences of all ages. This season also highlights our commitment to accessibility and innovation, with initiatives like The Prison Project – taking theatre into prisons, and Story of Stories – taking theatre into primary schools, empowering children to discover their voices and unleash their imaginations. At LAT, we strive to inspire and connect through the unique and transformative power of puppetry, and this season is a testament to that mission.”

Joseph Coelho, adapting ‘Overheard In A Tower Block’ commented:
“Little Angel Theatre is a magical place, I am so excited to get to adapt my poetry collection ‘Overheard In A Tower Block’ for its stage. It is a collection that tells the story of a young Londoner navigating the trials and tribulations of growing up with some myth and magic thrown in, expect mystical statues, chained gods and a block of flats that hides secrets.”
