Mark Hadfield will take on the iconic role of Hercule Poirot in Lucy Bailey’s new production of Death on the Nile, touring across the UK and Ireland from 26 September 2025.

Presented by Fiery Angel in association with Agatha Christie Limited, this new stage adaptation by Ken Ludwig follows the success of And Then There Were None and Murder on the Orient Express. The production marks the European premiere of Ludwig’s version of the classic Christie mystery.

The tour opens at The Lowry in Salford and will visit major venues including Richmond Theatre, Chichester Festival Theatre, Cheltenham Everyman Theatre, and Dublin’s Gaiety Theatre, before concluding at Plymouth Theatre Royal on 23 May 2026.

Mark Hadfield said, “I am delighted and excited to be playing the iconic role of Hercule Poirot in the forthcoming production of Agatha Christie’s Death on the Nile, directed by Lucy Bailey and produced by Fiery Angel. I’m also thrilled that this production, adapted by Ken Ludwig, will be touring the UK & Ireland, and have no doubt that it will be enjoyed by both those who already admire Christie’s genius and those yet to discover it.”

Hadfield’s screen credits include Belfast, Into the Woods, Hamlet, and Frankenstein. On television, he has appeared in Outlander, Maigret, Wallander, and Doc Martin. His recent stage work includes Dr Strangelove, Accidental Death of an Anarchist, and Richard III.
