Matilda The Musical will return to China for a third national tour from February to August 2026, it has been announced.

Presented by GWB Entertainment in association with the Royal Shakespeare Company, the international touring production continues the global success of the anarchic musical, which is currently playing to packed houses in London’s West End.

The musical has been seen by more than 12 million people across 100 cities worldwide and has won over 100 international awards, including 25 for Best Musical.

The China tour cast includes Steffan Lloyd-Evans, Lottie Power, Sebastien Torkia, Amelia Adams, Nompumelelo Mayiyane, Archie Bennett, Cameron McAllister, Jamie Haas and Georgia Baines.

The ensemble will feature Elliott Baker-Costello, Izzy Cross, Siobhan Diffin, Shoshana Ezequiel, Keiahna Jackson-Jones, Evangeline Jarvis Jones, Kent Jeycocke, Patrick King, Éva-Marie Saffrey, Kira McPherson, Jessica Nalton, Weslee Swain Lauder, Ollie Selwood, Garrett Tennant and Sam Varley.

The role of Matilda will be shared by three young performers, Donna Craig, Hannah Reinders and Lexi Reinders, joined by Aidan Attwell, Benji Raubenheimer, Samuel Lamond and Ted Roberts.

Matilda The Musical is written by Dennis Kelly, with music and lyrics by Tim Minchin, and is developed and directed by Matthew Warchus.

The production features design by Rob Howell, choreography by Peter Darling, orchestrations, additional music and musical supervision by Christopher Nightingale, lighting by Hugh Vanstone, sound by Simon Baker, and special effects and illusions by Paul Kieve.

A film adaptation of the musical, created by the core creative team, received its world premiere at the London Film Festival in October 2022.
