The Royal Shakespeare Company has announced new casting for its West End production of Matilda The Musical, which enters its 15th year at the Cambridge Theatre this autumn.
The beloved production recently celebrated its 5000th performance and is set to become the 10th longest-running musical in West End history this August.
Joining the cast in the title role from 9th September are Edie McCaig and Emilia Shefford, who will perform alongside existing Matildas Suki Hillier and Mia Rogers.
New young cast members joining the company in the roles of Bruce, Lavender, Nigel and other Crunchem Hall pupils include Sid Boyle, Ava Evangelista, Freya Fulford, John Johnson, Theo Kamande, Kanaho Kurihara, Albie Lambert, Kennedy-May Mcleary, Savannah McDowell, Mason Mingle, Lola Smith, Huxley Syers, Orla Vellacott and Jihyun Yoon.
They join the existing young cast: Alexander Beaumont, William Gurney, Chase King, Reuben Laming, Maxwell McGetrick, Theo Oh, Drew Reilly, Harry Relf, Isabella Rummery, Khit Thakin and Aisha Ugurhan.
Jon Robyns joins the adult cast as Miss Trunchbull, alongside Tiffany Graves as Mrs Wormwood, Neil McDermott as Mr Wormwood and Eve Norris as Miss Honey.
The ensemble will also welcome Kofi Aidoo-Appiah, Naomi Alade, Katie Bradley, Millie Brown-Thornton, Antony Lawrence, Nick Len, Tania Mathurin, Ben Middleton, James Oliver, Stuart Rouse, Chloe Saunders and Callum Train, joining returning members Reece Budin, William Elijah-Lewis, Alex Louize Bird and Dawn Williams.
Written by Dennis Kelly, with music and lyrics by Tim Minchin, Matilda The Musical is directed by Matthew Warchus and features design by Rob Howell, choreography by Peter Darling, and musical supervision by Christopher Nightingale.
The production has won 101 international awards, including 24 for Best Musical, and has been seen by over 12 million people in more than 100 cities worldwide.
A major UK and Ireland tour will begin at Leicester Curve on 6th October 2025.
