Sir Michael Palin is set to embark on a brand-new UK tour this autumn with Michael Palin in the Philippines, bringing audiences closer to one of his most ambitious and revealing recent journeys.
The solo tour will visit 13 venues across the UK between 7 and 30 October 2026, opening at Newbury Corn Exchange and concluding at Bradford St George’s Hall.
Inspired by his latest Channel 5 series, the show will see Palin take audiences behind the scenes of his travels through the Philippines, sharing first-hand stories, photographs and exclusive film footage captured during the expedition.
Audiences will hear about his experiences travelling across the Philippine archipelago, from the bustling streets of Manila to remote islands in the South China Sea, where he found himself witnessing escalating tensions between Philippine and Chinese coastguard vessels.
The journey also took him from idyllic tropical beaches and underground rivers to regions requiring military escort. Along the way, he explored the lasting legacy of the Marcos family, encountered communities facing poverty and political unrest, and visited the remains of Marawi.

Every journey leaves me with stories that never quite make it into the television programmes, and I always enjoy the chance to share those moments with a live audience. Alongside the films and photographs from my travels, I’ll be talking about the remarkable people I met, the extraordinary places I visited and some of the unexpected adventures along the way. I hope audiences will feel as though they’ve travelled with me and perhaps leave seeing the Philippines in a completely new light.”
Michael Palin in the Philippines follows the acclaimed three-part Channel 5 series produced by ITN Productions and coincides with the publication of Palin’s new book of the same name, published by Hutchinson Heinemann on 1 October.
