Irish Musical Theatre Performer and Songwriter Caroline Kay has unveiled her latest EP, ‘Overnight’. This captivating collection of original music is now available to stream and download on all major music platforms. Comprising five self-penned songs, ‘Overnight’ showcases Kay’s exceptional songwriting skills and dynamic vocal abilities.

After sharing some one-minute song ideas on her social media platforms, there was an overwhelmingly positive response from her online community which prompted Kay to bring some of these ideas to life, resulting in the creation of this thoughtfully crafted EP.

The five tracks on ‘Overnight’ mirror the highs and lows of Kay’s personal and professional journey over recent years. According to Kay, “The EP is inspired by the idea that while no success story begins and ends overnight, determination and perseverance will at some point cause things to fall into place, and it’s that magical moment of the stars eventually aligning that can materialise overnight.”

Two of the tracks from the EP have already been released as singles, with ‘My Parents’ New Car’ amassing over 10,000 streams on Spotify within its debut week alone. Kay’s previous EPs, ‘Notes’ and ‘tricks’, both reached number one on the Irish iTunes Album Charts, with The Irish Examiner raving, “[Her songs] have sent shivers down the arms of many people… In short, she’s seriously talented.”

‘Overnight’ solidifies Kay’s status as an artist who effortlessly blends musical theatre and pop influences with authentic songwriting. Through her heartfelt lyrics and beautiful melodies, Kay invites listeners on an emotional journey that is both deeply personal and yet also taps into the universality of the human experience.

Adding to the excitement, Kay has teamed up with innovative new company Wonderworks for an exclusive ‘More Than Merch’ package. Wonderworks, founded by West End Star David Hunter and Graphic Designer Chris Porter, aims to provide fans with creatively designed pieces which further the storytelling of the music, and starting on Friday 28th July, one week after the EP release, this unique bundle will be available to pre-ordered via Kay’s website.

Aside from her own music, and her performing work on London stages, Kay is currently working on some exciting writing projects. One being her own original musical, ‘Daisy’, which is in the works to be staged next year, and another is a yet-to-be-announced project in New York for which she is Composer-Lyricist.

‘Overnight’ is available now on all major music platforms. For more information about Kay and her future releases, check out her social media platforms or visit her website at www.carolinekay.com.
