The electro-folk musical Precipice will make its world premiere at New Diorama Theatre from 11th November to 13th December 2025.

This bold debut production from Timelapse, a new boundary-blurring theatre company, has been developed through a uniquely collaborative creative process.

To mark the occasion, Timelapse has released a track from Precipice titled Flash in the Pan, offering audiences a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the pulse and creativity of the show.

Set across two timelines, Precipice follows the residents of a towering high-rise who take shelter along the riverbank in Greenwich — the place where time begins and the world ends.

In the near present, a biomedical emergency forces a young couple to confront their complicity in the face of catastrophe. Four hundred years later, survivors celebrate their endurance while buried truths threaten their way of life.

The ensemble cast features Max Alexander-Taylor as Biscuits, fresh from Jesus Christ Superstar at the Watermill; Holly Freeman (My Lady Jane, Coram Boy) as Emily; Isabella Marshall (The Tempest RSC, Woyzeck The Old Vic) as Maggie; Melinda Orengo (Police Cops: The Musical, Julie: The Musical) as Piper; and Eric Stroud (101 Dalmatians, The Fantastic Four: First Steps) as Ash.

Adam Lenson, Creator and Director, said:
“New Diorama has given Timelapse the opportunity to make as audacious a new musical as I can remember. Our team of writers have crafted a gripping story, exhilarating songs, and I’m thrilled to be working with such a talented group of multi-skilled actor musicians to bring this show to life.”

The musical was born out of New Diorama’s Intervention01 programme, which supported the team to trial new ways of making theatre.

The writing team includes Stu Barter (Talkshow), Rachel Bellman (These Demons), Darren Clark (Olivier winner for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button), Annabelle Lee Revak (Windsong), Shaye Poulton Richards (Lies All The Way Down), and Timelapse Artistic Director Adam Lenson (Cable Street).
