Pitlochry Festival Theatre has announced that the UK première of the musical Ceilidh will take place at Pitlochry Town Hall from 7 to 17 October. The production will be directed and choreographed by Tony Award winner Sam Pinkleton.

Part of Alan Cumming’s first season as Artistic Director, Ceilidh invites audiences to immerse themselves in one of Scotland’s oldest and most beloved traditions. The show brings together songs, stories and spirited dancing, led by an energetic caller and live folk band.

As the dancing builds and the night gathers pace, a family story unfolds. It is a tale of love, legacy and the reason why this particular ceilidh matters more than most.

The musical comes from award‑winning writing duo Scott Gilmour and Claire McKenzie, known as Noisemaker. Described as a joyous and irreverent celebration of Scottish community and culture, the production will feature a cast of emerging Scottish talent. Artistic Director Alan Cumming has expressed his pride in presenting their work during the Theatre’s milestone anniversary year.

Ceilidh is produced by Pitlochry Festival Theatre in special arrangement with Grove Entertainment, Barbara Whitman and Trafalgar Theatre Productions.
