The world‑premiere production of Redcliffe has announced its full cast ahead of its strictly limited run at Southwark Playhouse Borough from 22 May to 4 July 2026.
Written by Jordan Luke Gage, who also stars in the lead role of William, the new musical is based on the true 18th‑century story of William Critchard and Richard Arnold in Redcliffe, Bristol.
Set against a backdrop of persecution and secrecy, the show follows William, a young man from humble beginnings, whose life changes when he meets sailor Richard, prompting both to question their beliefs and identities.
Gage reprises the role of William following eight sold‑out workshop performances at The Other Palace in 2024.
The newly announced cast includes Rebecca Lock as Mother, Daniel Krikler as Richard, Jess Douglas‑Welsh as Abigail, Adrian Hansel as Baber, Melissa Jacques as Georgie/Judge, Jade Johnson as Landlady, Phoebe Kyriakopoulos as Esther, Joseph Peacock as Arthur and Steven Serlin as Officer/Felix.
Redcliffe is directed by Paul Foster with choreography by Emma Woods, set design by Andrew Exeter and costume design by Martin Hanly.
Lighting design is by Matt Hockley, sound design by Alastair Penman, with musical supervision by Katy Richardson and associate musical direction and orchestrations by Ben Tomalin.
Additional orchestrations are by Ben Ferguson and the production is managed by James Anderton, with Ethan Davis as assistant designer.
Casting is by Will Burton.
The musical has been supported and developed by MTFestUK, The Other Palace and Bill Kenwright Limited.
