A major UK tour of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s global sensation CATS has confirmed new dates for 2027, following earlier announcements for its 2026 engagements.

The brand new Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre production, presented by Michael Harrison for Lloyd Webber Harrison Musicals, will open at Theatre Royal Plymouth from 6 to 17 October 2026 before touring across the UK through to June 2027.

Directed and choreographed by Drew McOnie, the tour follows a summer season at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre, running from 25 July to 12 September 2026.

The production features music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and is based on T.S. Eliot’s Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats. It recently announced its 2026 tour dates, which include stops in Hull, Birmingham, Manchester, Bristol, Llandudno and Glasgow.

Newly confirmed 2027 dates include Nottingham, Canterbury, Sunderland, Aberdeen, Norwich, Belfast, Oxford, Southampton, Edinburgh, Bradford, Liverpool, Woking, Cardiff, Milton Keynes and Newcastle.

CATS forms part of Drew McOnie’s second season as Artistic Director at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre. It marks the venue’s third Andrew Lloyd Webber musical in a decade, following Jesus Christ Superstar and Evita.

Lloyd Webber Harrison Musicals’ wider producing credits include Evita at The London Palladium, the award-winning revival of Sunset Blvd., Starlight Express at Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre and Jesus Christ Superstar starring Sam Ryder.

‘A new day has begun.’

The production invites audiences to follow the strays and rebels of London as they gather under the Jellicle moon, each hoping to be chosen. Featuring iconic songs including Old Deuteronomy, Macavity: The Mystery Cat and Memory, the musical remains one of the longest-running shows in West End and Broadway history.

Since premiering in 1981 at the New London Theatre, CATS has been seen by more than 77 million people worldwide, translated into 23 languages and presented in over 54 countries. In 2026, it will also embark on two major international tours, while CATS: The Jellicle Ball prepares for its Broadway debut.

The creative team includes Sami Fendall as Set, Costume and Wigs Designer, Jessica Hung Han Yun as Lighting Designer, Adam Fisher as Sound Designer, Guy Common as Makeup Designer, Will Burton as Casting Director and Alex Parker as Musical Supervisor.

Full casting for the UK tour is still to be announced.
