Noah Schnapp, best known to audiences worldwide as Will Byers in Netflix’s hit series Stranger Things, will make his stage debut this autumn in the world premiere of Affluenza at Riverside Studios in London.
Written and directed by Andy Sandberg, Affluenza will run from 26 September to 21 November 2026, with a press night scheduled for 5 October.
Set in the ultra-wealthy world of the Hamptons, the new play explores questions of moral accountability, family legacy and the American justice system. Inspired by real-life events surrounding a controversial legal defence, the story examines the consequences of power, privilege and wealth.
Schnapp will take on two roles in the production, which marks the first show of the new Mainstage Season 26/27 at Riverside Studios.
Noah Schnapp said: “I am so excited to make my stage debut in London with ‘Affluenza.’ I started talking with Andy Sandberg a few months ago about finding the right opportunity to work together, and it’s thrilling to now be bringing this play to life in London. I wanted to be very intentional about what I took on next, and as I spend more time with this excellent script, I feel so connected to the characters. Without giving away too much, I get to play two very different roles, and it’s a story that’s really going to leave audiences talking and thinking.”

Noah is a brilliant young actor who has captivated audiences on screen, and now London audiences will have the opportunity to see him in his stage debut. Additional casting and creative team details for Affluenza will be announced in the coming weeks.
The production launches Riverside Studios’ Mainstage Season 26/27, a programme of five plays presented in the venue’s 400-seat theatre in West London. Following Affluenza, the season will continue with the world premieres of Sacrilegious by Tom Schulman and Expecting by Scott Elmegreen and Drew Fornarola, both directed by Sandberg.
Riverside Studios has recently hosted productions including Ulster American, starring Woody Harrelson and Andy Serkis, Second Best starring Asa Butterfield, and Operation Mincemeat.
