The Olivier and Tony Award-winning musical Operation Mincemeat has welcomed brand new cast members to its West End company, with their first performance at London’s Fortune Theatre taking place tonight.
Ahmed Hamad, Charlotte Fleming and Colm Gleeson join the principal cast of the acclaimed musical, which is now in its fourth year in the West End.
They are joined by the returning Chloë Hart, who continues her role into a third year, and Madeleine Jackson-Smith, who steps up to a principal role after previously joining the production as a cover while studying at the Royal Academy of Music.
Jason Kajdi is joined by Amy Parker, Benjamin Durham and Molly Cutter, completing the fourth West End company of the production.
Operation Mincemeat is currently playing simultaneously in London, on tour across the UK and on Broadway in New York. In the West End, the show is now booking through to 20 February 2027 following its 18th extension.
On Broadway, the musical has confirmed performances at the John Golden Theatre through to 17 January 2027 and earlier this year celebrated the sale of its one millionth ticket.
The musical premiered in the West End in May 2023 and has since been hailed as the best reviewed show in West End history, winning the Olivier and WhatsOnStage Awards for Best New Musical.
Set in 1943, Operation Mincemeat tells the true story of the audacious wartime deception plan involving a stolen corpse that helped turn the tide of the Second World War.
The production is directed by Robert Hastie with choreography by Jenny Arnold, and features design work by Ben Stones, Mark Henderson and Mike Walker.
The musical is written and composed by SpitLip, comprising David Cumming, Felix Hagan, Natasha Hodgson and Zoë Roberts.
