‘Pelican’ Set to Bring Laughs to The Vault Festival

Pelican is a whirlwind hour of narrative comedy that’s “wildly funny” (*****BroadwayBaby)

Written and performed by Gaulier-trained Ex-Footlights Sam, Jordan and Guy, the show uses elements of sketch, clown, and physical theatre, to build a surreal, inventive and joyful world.

Pelican tells the story of an illustrious TV actor, famous for his portrayal of a hot-shot lawyer, who is thrown together with his real-life counterpart; a dispirited solicitor stuck in the mundane world of litigation. As they find themselves implicated in a web of bizarre crimes, the two must work together to solve a mystery that’s as playful and energetic as it is funny.

This self-titled show is brought to you by Pelican, an exciting young comedy company returning to London after a sold out run at the Edinburgh Fringe and a U.S. Tour with the 2016 show “Lagoon”. Jordan, Guy and Sam have recently graduated from the Cambridge Footlights, and also have a background in theatre; Sam is resident playwright at Papatango and Jordan has directed two of Sam’s plays: STIFF! (Winner of the Footlights Harry Porter Prize 2014) and Amygdala Wonderland (Shortlisted for the Papatango New Writing Prize 2015).

Pelican is showing at VAULT Festival 2017 on January 25th & 29th in The Crescent, and costs £9.
