The Pleasance in Islington is marking 30 years on the London comedy scene with Cut Price Comedy, a brand-new monthly mixed-bill comedy night starting in January 2026.

Each show will feature five top acts plus an MC, all for just £5 per ticket. The first event on 27th January boasts an incredible line-up including Edinburgh Comedy Award winners Sam Nicoresti (Best Show 2025) and Ayoade Bamgboye (Best Newcomer 2025).

They’ll be joined by two-time Edinburgh Comedy Award winner and Taskmaster favourite John Kearns, fresh from his sell-out show Adam Riches & John Kearns are Ball & Boe.

Completing the launch night are Jazz Emu (hailed by The Telegraph as the 26th Funniest Comedian of the 21st Century) and rising star Maia Tassalini, alongside host Garrett Millerick, star of Radio 4’s Do Gooders.

Future line-ups promise appearances from Amy Gledhill, Celya AB, Pierre Novellie, Helen Bauer, Toussaint Douglass, Stuart Laws, and many more.

The Pleasance will also offer cut-price pints and pizzas, making this one of the best-value nights out in London.

Alongside Cut Price Comedy, the venue’s 12th annual Work in Progress Comedy Season runs January to April 2026, featuring over 100 shows from as little as £8. Acts include Taskmaster contestants Maisie Adam and Sophie Duker, plus Edinburgh Comedy Award winners Jordan Brookes, Ahir Shah, and Lara Ricote.
