The Isle of Wight’s much-loved arts festival Ventnor Fringe will return from 17 to 26 July 2026, transforming the town into a vibrant hub of theatre, comedy, music and circus.
Set within a National Landscape and UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, the festival promises a unique summer escape, with pop-up venues, immersive experiences and performances staged in locations ranging from caves to cliff tops.
The 2026 programme features more than 130 shows, spanning theatre, comedy, cabaret, circus, music and family entertainment, cementing Ventnor Fringe as one of the UK’s most distinctive multidisciplinary festivals.
Among the highlights is The Circus Trail, which invites audiences to explore Ventnor’s Botanic Garden after hours as “an international cast of acrobats and dancers transform these beautiful tropical gardens into a unique promenade performance.”
The Ventnor Exchange Arena, a striking pink Big Top introduced in 2025, makes its return with acclaimed shows including POLICE COPS from Soho Theatre, Norvil and Josephine’s Rabbits Out of the Hat, and live podcast favourites The Guilty Feminist and Drunk Women Solving Crime.
Comedy remains a central draw, with Edinburgh previews from leading acts including Ahir Shah, Joe-Kent Walters as Frankie Monroe, and Sam Nicoresti, alongside international performers Felicity Ward and Tom Ballard.
Each evening, audiences can gather at the clifftop venue Club Lunar, which hosts a packed line-up of live music and DJs. Artists include The Turbans, Malphino, Jawari, The Soulfire Project and Evolfo, alongside “tastemakers like Tina Edwards on the decks and pop-up circus and cabaret performers.”
The festival has previously been praised for its unique atmosphere, with Time Out noting, “Head to the hilly streets of Ventnor… for alt festivities – with a side order of beachy vibes. Art loves will discover a whole creative world.”
The Independent described it as “One hell of a homegrown festival….an authentic, bohemian festival experience”, while The Sunday Times called it “rapidly becoming the country’s most surprising and inspirational multidisciplinary arts festival.”
Run by Ventnor Exchange, Ventnor Fringe continues to grow as the island’s largest arts festival, offering both ticketed events and a wide range of free performances across the town.
