From the theatre company that brings you immersive late-nights at the Royal Academy of Arts, as featured on Monocle Radio, you are invited underground this Valentine’s Day for a night of physical theatre and live music that explores the complex oddities of love in a world that needs it right now.
Inspired by the underground poetry of Jacques Prévert, who wrote of essential human intimacy, Breakfast follows the story of a man and a woman in and out of love in late-1940s Paris, scored live by folk singer Ben Murray, playing the piano and accordion (nominated for Best Original Song at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards, 2001).
Wilson & Hart is a London-based theatre company, founded in 2015 by Marah Stafford and Nicholas Hart who met while performing in Olivier Award-nominated Alice’s Adventures Underground (Les Enfants Terribles, The Vaults). They strive to create visually-striking, movement-based theatre.
Nicholas Hart and Ben Murray met while performing together in the National Theatre’s West End production of War Horse and for National Theatre Live, where Nicholas puppeteered Joey, and Ben played the Song Man.
Breakfast is at VAULT Festival 14th – 18th February.
