Preview: Mariah & Friendz at Underbelly Festival

Mariah and Friendz at Underbelly

Mariah and Friendz at Underbelly

Following on from a sold-out show at Winterville, Mariah & Friendz continue their meteoric rise by taking over the Paradiso Spiegeltent on the Southbank, for one night only as part of this year’s London Underbelly Festival.

Expect in-your-face, fierce and freakishly fabulous performances from some of London’s finest drag, cabaret and circus performers. Joyful, anarchic, silly and unique – it’s a queer riot!

Hosted by award-winning drag monstrosity Baby Lame, and featuring a spectacular all-star queer cast including circus-queen Crystal Beth, flaming hot burlesque from TeTe Bang and Lilly SnatchDragon, ‘multi-gendered Messiahs’ Shesus and the Sistas, aerial boylesque from Danny Ash and Just Joe and jaw-dropping, death-dropping drag from Freida Slaves.

Add to that over-the-top campery, joyous audience participation, sickening stunts, mass queer sex appeal… and even some Mariah Carey!

Mariah & Friendz has been hosting OTT parties since 2013 in East London, with a monthly residency at the iconic Bethnal Green Working Men’s Club. Mariah Carey is our vague inspiration and muse – think glitter, shade and the fashion of 2001! In-your-face performances from some of London’s best queer performers mix with classic dance floor bangers to create one hell of a party! SWEATY! SASSY! SLOPPY! SHINY! STUPID!
