Preview Me & My Bee at artsdepot

Following their smash-hit run at Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2017, ThisEgg are coming to artsdepot with their award-winning comic family show, Me & My Bee. Enjoyable for everyone aged seven and above, the show tackles climate change, the ecosystem and the disappearance of bees. Through a playful combination of storytelling, clowning, original live music and audience interaction, ThisEgg invite you to save the world – one bee at a time.

ThisEgg asks audiences to join their political party – disguised as a party party, disguised as a show – as Me & My Bee questions what more can be done to help, before it is too late. The show is designed to help adults and children alike to learn about their effect on the ecosystem, how to care for the smaller things, about cause and effect, and how to respect the planet. Complete with party games, a bee dance and a wing-beating competition, this offbeat comedy buzzes through its complex subject with a light touch.

Winner of the inaugural Les Enfants Terribles Stepladder Award 2017 and shortlisted for the NSDF Edinburgh Emerging Artists Award, The Fringe Sustainable Practice Award and Brighton Award for Excellence, Me & My Bee is touring throughout 2018.

ThisEgg was founded in 2010 by a group of young women passionate about creating and producing their own work. Since then, Josie Dale-Jones has continued to self-produce shows with a variety of artistic collaborators under ThisEgg. ThisEgg makes intimate theatre that connects with audiences, moving them to laugh, cry and imagine; prompting them to ask big questions about the world we live in. ThisEgg devises original work which mixes theatrical styles, celebrating different forms of entertainment.

Me & My Bee is at artsdepot 7th April 2018.
