Monkey’s Blood VAULT Festival

Monkey’s Blood VAULT Festival

Monkey’s Blood is created by and stars founder of Theatre N16, Jamie Eastlake.  Micky always liked puppets and performing. But as a working class lad from the North East, the odds were against him. That didn’t stop him from becoming one of the nation’s darlings though, with the help of his sidekick, a coked up monkey called Colin. But when Micky’s links to the far right emerge, his past threatens to destroy everything. A brand-new play about children’s TV, the far right and a foul mouthed monkey.

“And under the circumstances they did what any group of human beings would do. They held a public trial and then they hung it. This poor defenceless innocent little monkey.  Hung it….When I think about my situation, I guess I’m sort of like that monkey myself. ”

Created by Jamie Eastlake (Founder of Theatre N16)  and John Hickman (Writer of Eastenders, Doctors, The Dumping Ground) Monkey’s Blood is at VAULT Festival 6th – 10th February 2019.

Jamie Eastlake said “After the last five years of running theatre spaces to create opportunities for others I’m over the moon to be back doing what I did to fall in love with the stage and to get the chance to tell this very important (absolutely barking mad) story”
