The Mill at Sonning Theatre has unveiled production images for the world premiere of Death Comes to Pemberley, now running until 28 June 2025.
This thrilling new adaptation will then embark on a UK tour, visiting Windsor Theatre Royal, Cardiff New Theatre, Bath Theatre Royal, Guildford Yvonne Arnaud Theatre, Bromley Churchill Theatre, Wycombe Swan, Brighton Theatre Royal, and Richmond Theatre.
The cast features James Bye as Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy, Todd Boyce as Sir Sewlyn Hardcastle, Jamie-Rose Duke as Elizabeth Darcy, and Sam Woodhams as George Wickham.
Also appearing are Sarah Berger, Sean Rigby, Celia Cruwys-Finnigan, Louise Faulkner, Paul Jerricho, Mogali Masuku, and David Osmond.
Adapted for the stage by Duncan Abel and Rachel Wagstaff (The Girl on the Train, The Da Vinci Code), the production is directed by Joe Harmston and Jonathan O’Boyle.
The creative team includes Sean Cavanagh (Set Design), Natalie Titchener (Costume & Hair Design), Mike Robertson (Lighting Design), and David Osmond (Musical Director).
This world premiere brings P.D. James’s best-selling novel to life, blending Jane Austen’s beloved characters with a gripping murder mystery.
Six years after Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy’s marriage, their peaceful life at Pemberley is disrupted when Lydia arrives with shocking news: a man has been murdered, and suspicion falls on her husband, George Wickham.
“As the investigation unfolds, dark secrets emerge, tensions rise, and loyalties are tested, casting doubt on everyone’s innocence,” tease the producers.
The production marks the first national tour produced by The Mill at Sonning, in collaboration with Studio RA.
