Production photos have been released ahead of tonight’s official opening of A Midsummer Night’s Dream at The Bridge Theatre.
One of the venue’s most celebrated productions, this immersive staging of Shakespeare’s classic play returns for a limited summer run until 20 August.
The cast is led by JJ Feild (Little Disasters, Austenland, Captain America) as Oberon/Theseus and Susannah Fielding (The Merchant of Venice, This Time with Alan Partridge) as Titania/Hippolyta.
They are joined by Emmanuel Akwafo (For the Black Boys…, Sex Education) as Bottom and David Moorst (Killing Eve, Blitz) as Puck/Philostrate.
Also featured are Paul Adeyefa, Hilson Agbangbe, Bella Aubin, Jemima Brown, Nina Cassells, Kat Collings, Adam Cunis, Ali Goldsmith, Hollie Hales, Molly Hewitt-Richards, Felicity Montagu, Lennin Nelson-McClure, Jem Rose, Dominic Semwanga, Lily Simpkiss, Divesh Subaskaran and David Webber.
David Moorst reprises his role from the 2019 production, alongside returning cast members Paul Adeyefa, Felicity Montagu, Lennin Nelson-McClure and Adam Cunis.
Directed by Nicholas Hytner, the production features award-winning design by Bunny Christie, with costumes by Christina Cunningham and additional costumes by Christie.
Lighting is by Bruno Poet, sound design by Paul Arditti, and music by Grant Olding. Movement is choreographed by Arlene Phillips.
James Cousins serves as Co-Director, Co-Movement Director and Intimacy Director, with Susanna Peretz as Hair & Makeup Designer.
Originally staged in 2019, A Midsummer Night’s Dream was seen by over 100,000 people and filmed by NTLive. The immersive format allows 400 audience members to stand within the action, surrounded by 670 seated attendees.
