Queer Bloomsbury will return to Charleston this August with a vibrant programme of performance, talks and celebration, newly curated in full by Queer Heritage South.

Taking place on Saturday 15 August, the event is powered by Marlborough Productions and promises “an unforgettable night of summertime celebration and entertainment”.

At the heart of the programme is The Moment, a keynote talk examining queer imagination, protest and power in an increasingly challenging social and political climate.

Framed as a rallying cry, the event brings together voices exploring visibility, resistance and solidarity, while reflecting on ongoing threats to queer rights.

Across the evening, audiences can explore Charleston’s gardens through the Queer Fayre, an immersive series of experiences blending live art and performance.

Artists including Symoné, Brian Lobel, Emma Frankland, Subira Joy, Samson Dittrich and Charlie Wood will present work throughout the outdoor setting.

The verdant surroundings, once home to the Bloomsbury Group, will host a diverse mix of performances, inviting audiences to “frolic amongst” the work.

As night falls, the event transitions into a Midsummer Party, with DJs and special guest performances bringing music and dance to the open air setting.

The celebration invites audiences to embrace a playful dress code, encouraging flamboyant and imaginative looks inspired by midsummer folklore and queer expression.

Queer Bloomsbury 2026 positions itself as both a celebration and a space for connection, combining artistic expression with community and activism.
