Rehearsal images have been released for National Youth Theatre REP Company’s production of Let the Right One In, a stage adaptation by Jack Thorne of the Swedish novel and film by John Ajvide Lindqvist.

The production runs at Underbelly Boulevard Soho from 5 to 23 May 2026, with press night on 7 May, and is directed by Olivier Award winner James Dacre.

New promotional artwork has also been unveiled, created by photographer Rich Lakos, alongside rehearsal photography by Johan Persson.

Part of the REP Company’s 2026 ‘Love Bites’ season, Let the Right One In is described as a dark coming-of-age vampire thriller and forms part of National Youth Theatre’s wider 70th anniversary celebrations.

The story follows bullied teenager Oskar, whose lonely life on a housing estate is disrupted by a series of sinister killings and the arrival of mysterious new neighbour Eli, leading to a powerful and unsettling bond.

Jack Thorne is an NYT alumnus whose extensive credits include Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Stranger Things: The First Shadow, Enola Holmes and His Dark Materials.

James Dacre recently founded Living Productions and previously spent ten years as Artistic Director of Royal & Derngate Theatres, with a long-standing training partnership with National Youth Theatre.

Let the Right One In was first performed at the Royal Court Theatre in 2013, before transferring to the West End in 2014 and later premiering in New York.
