New rehearsal images have been released of Lolly Adefope as she prepares to make her West End debut in the Olivier Award-winning comedy OH, MARY! at London’s Trafalgar Theatre.
Adefope will begin performances as Mary Todd Lincoln from Monday 28 September, joining the hit production that recently won Best Entertainment or Comedy Play at this year’s Olivier Awards.
The newly released rehearsal images offer audiences a first look at Adefope in the role ahead of her debut, alongside cast members Lucy Frederick as Mary’s Chaperone, J.R. Ballantyne as Mary’s Husband’s Assistant, Vinnie Heaven as Mary’s Teacher and Syrus Lowe as Mary’s Husband.
Written by Cole Escola and directed by Sam Pinkleton, OH, MARY! is a dark comedy that reimagines the life of Mary Todd Lincoln in the weeks leading up to Abraham Lincoln’s assassination.
The 80-minute play has become one of the most acclaimed theatrical hits of recent years, earning Tony Awards for Best Leading Actor in a Play for Cole Escola and Best Direction of a Play for Sam Pinkleton, alongside Drama League Awards for Outstanding Play and Outstanding Direction of a Play.
Following its off-Broadway premiere in January 2024, OH, MARY! transferred to Broadway’s Lyceum Theatre, where it broke box office records and continues to play to sold-out audiences.
The production opened in the West End at the Trafalgar Theatre in December 2025, where it has also enjoyed record-breaking box office success. The show is currently booking through to 2 January 2027.
The creative team includes scenic designer dots, costume designer Holly Pierson, lighting designer Cha See, sound designers Daniel Kluger and Drew Levy, wig designer Leah J. Loukas, arranger David Dabbon and casting director Stuart Burt CDG.
