Last night, saw Sir Ian McKellen, one of the UK’s most esteemed stars of the stage and screen, host a very special evening as part of the restaurant’s intimate ‘The Delaunay Presents An Evening With’ series.

Taking place from 6.30pm, guests enjoyed a unique evening of relaxed conversation with host, journalist and writer Tim Wapshott, as Sir Ian McKellen disclosed his many career highlights spanning seven illustrious decades. Renowned for his roles across multiple genres, ranging from Shakespearean dramas and contemporary theatre to Lord of the Rings and science fiction, Sir Ian has garnered worldwide acclaim for his work.

The evening saw Sir Ian share a host of career highlights and behind-the-scenes anecdotes, as well as talking about his longstanding support for the actors’ retirement home Denville Hall, a charity that is very close to his heart.

Alongside the in-conversation-with style event, guests enjoyed a limited-edition, seasonal menu created specially for the evening by Head Chef Maciej Banas. Dishes included chicken, fennel and heritage carrot terrine to start, risotto primavera with summer black truffle for mains, and coffee crème brûlée to finish.
