The global musical phenomenon SIX has released its first song in Spanish, with the single “Ex-Wives / SIX” now available on all digital platforms.
The track, recorded by the new Spanish cast, offers audiences a first listen to the production ahead of its premiere at Teatro Gran Vía in Madrid this September.
The release marks a milestone for musical theatre in Spain, with both a single and an official music video launched ahead of the show’s opening.
“Ex-Wives / SIX” is a Spanish-language mash-up of two of the musical’s best-known numbers, blending explosive pop, powerful vocals and the energy of a contemporary girl group.
The song captures the essence of SIX, as the six wives of Henry VIII reclaim their stories through music, humour and bold storytelling.
Created by Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss, SIX has become a global cultural phenomenon, winning multiple awards including two Tony Awards for Best Original Score.
The show has amassed more than 5.5 billion streams worldwide and maintains over 1.6 million monthly listeners, with its original cast recording achieving Platinum status.
The Madrid production, produced by Julia Gómez Cora and Dmitry Bogachev alongside Kenny Wax, Wendy and Andy Barnes, and George Stiles, will be the first Spanish-language staging of the hit musical.
The production opens for a limited season at Teatro Gran Vía this September.
