Summer Strallen is set to join the West End company of Beetlejuice The Musical, taking over the role of the crystal-loving life coach Delia Deetz from Aimie Atkinson for a limited season from 3 August to 2 November 2026.
Currently playing at the Prince Edward Theatre through to 17 April 2027, the musical is based on Tim Burton’s beloved film and follows Lydia Deetz as she navigates life alongside a pair of ghosts and the mischievous Beetlejuice.
Strallen is a four-time Olivier Award nominee whose extensive stage credits include Top Hat, Love Never Dies, Young Frankenstein, The Sound of Music, The Drowsy Chaperone and CATS.
Speaking about joining the production, Strallen said: “I’m beyond excited to have the time of my afterlife this summer as I join the company of the West End’s most deliciously unhinged show, stepping into the delightfully deluded world of Delia. Playing Delia feels suspiciously like being typecast as Summer circa 2017—all crystals, moon ceremonies, affirmations, and an unwavering belief that the universe has a plan! I can’t wait to revisit that chapter of myself and bring my own brand of inspirational “good vibes” to the Deetz family. My crystals are charged… now let’s see if they can handle the Netherworld”
During Strallen’s engagement, Delia will continue to be part of a cast led by David Fynn and Tom Xander sharing the title role of Beetlejuice, alongside Hannah Nordberg as Lydia Deetz, David Hunter and Chelsea Halfpenny as Adam and Barbara Maitland, and Alasdair Harvey as Charles Deetz.
Aimie Atkinson, who originated the role of Katherine Howard in the West End production of SIX, will briefly leave the production to make her Broadway debut at the Lena Horne Theatre, reprising her Olivier Award-nominated performance. She is scheduled to return to Beetlejuice The Musical on 3 November 2026.
Following successful runs on Broadway and international productions in cities including Tokyo, Seoul, Melbourne and Abu Dhabi, Beetlejuice The Musical made its West End premiere earlier this year. The production features a book by Scott Brown and Anthony King, music and lyrics by Eddie Perfect, and direction by Tony Award winner Alex Timbers.
