For one night only this Halloween, Disney’s Hercules will unleash the underworld at Theatre Royal Drury Lane with a devilishly delightful takeover led by none other than Hades himself.
On 31 October, starting at 8pm, audiences attending the musical are invited to arrive early and immerse themselves in a trail of music, mayhem, and photo opportunities before curtain-up.
In a thrilling twist, Susan Egan, the original voice of Meg in the animated Hercules film, will join the cast on stage at curtain call to lead a special Disney villain medley.
Susan Egan said, “When Herc comes calling, what’s a Meg to do?! I’m thrilled to be coming to London to join the cast of Hercules for a very special third act this Halloween! That’s Hades’ big day, after all, and I hold no grudges. This brilliant story holds a very special place in my heart, so it’s truly wonderful to celebrate its new life at Theatre Royal Drury Lane – and even make my debut on that iconic stage!”
Egan is also known for voicing Lin in Spirited Away and was nominated for a Tony® Award for originating the role of Belle in Beauty and the Beast on Broadway.
Guests are encouraged to dress in their best spooky seasonal looks or costumes, with extra kudos given to those inspired by Disney villains.
The bar will be possessed by the spirits for the evening, serving themed cocktails and mocktails crafted especially for this one-off event.
Supporting the festivities is Lorcana, the Disney trading card game by Ravensburger, offering giveaways and special prizes throughout the night.
Disney’s Hercules features music by Alan Menken, lyrics by David Zippel, and a book by Robert Horn and Kwame Kwei-Armah.
Directed and choreographed by Casey Nicholaw, with co-choreography by Tanisha Scott, the production is a high-energy, myth-inspired adventure.
The cast includes Luke Brady as Hercules, Mae Ann Jorolan as Meg, Trevor Dion Nicholas as Phil, and Stephen Carlile as Hades.
The Muses are played by Candace Furbert, Sharlene Hector, Brianna Ogunbawo, Malinda Parris, and Robyn Rose-Li, with Kimmy Edwards and Kamilla Fernandes as standby Muses.
