Arcola Theatre and Dippermouth’s production of The Daughter-In-Law will transfer to the Arcola’s main house in January 2019.

D H Lawrence’s 1913 play, never performed in his lifetime, entwines the struggles of a young married couple with those of a community on strike. It is set around the mines of Eastwood, Nottinghamshire, where Lawrence was born and raised.

The most popular show ever to be staged in the Arcola’s studio, The Daughter-In-Law received critical acclaim and three Off West End award nominations (Best Female Performance, Best Direction, Best Costume Design).

This main-house transfer will see the space reconfigured for the production’s unique in-the-round staging.

The Daughter-In-Law is directed by the Arcola’s associate director Jack Gamble, Matthew Biddulph (Joe Gascoyne), Ellie Nunn (Minnie Gascoyne) and Veronica Roberts (Mrs Gascoyne) are returning from the original cast.
