The National Theatre announces The Effect by Lucy Prebble (Succession), in association with The Jamie Lloyd Company is joining National Theatre at Home on 9 January 2024.

Filmed during its run on the Lyttelton stage at the National Theatre in London, the ‘glorious’ (★★★★★ Mail on Sunday) production, directed by Jamie Lloyd, sees two young volunteers in a clinical drug trial, when their illicit romance poses startling dilemmas for the supervising doctors. Following its successful London run, The Effect will transfer to The Shed in New York, running 3 – 31 March 2024.

Audiences globally* can stream the unmissable Paapa Essiedu (The Lazarus Project) and Taylor Russell (Bones and All) in this ‘tender, thrilling and elegantly brutal’ (★★★★★ The Stage) examination of love and ethics, alongside Michele Austin (This Is Going to Hurt, Cyrano de Bergerac) and Kobna Holdbrook-Smith (Tina Turner: The Musical).

All titles on National Theatre at Home are available with captions, and over 70% of titles are available with Audio Description.
