National Theatre at Home has announced five major streaming releases for autumn 2026, bringing a mix of acclaimed West End productions and National Theatre favourites to audiences around the world.
The season begins on 1 September with Arthur Miller’s All My Sons, captured during its celebrated run at Wyndham’s Theatre. Directed by Ivo Van Hove, the production stars Bryan Cranston, Marianne Jean-Baptiste and Paapa Essiedu.
Described by the Financial Times as “stupendously well-acted”, the drama follows businessman Joe Keller as the consequences of his wartime decisions begin to unravel his family life.
From 8 September, audiences can stream Teeth ’N’ Smiles, David Hare’s cult classic featuring original music and starring Rebecca Lucy Taylor, better known as Self Esteem.
Filmed live at the Duke of York’s Theatre during the play’s 50th anniversary revival, the production follows Maggie Frisby, a once-revolutionary singer confronting shattered ambitions, excess and disillusionment.
The National Theatre at Home autumn programme continues on 1 October with The Fifth Step by David Ireland.
The critically acclaimed play stars Jack Lowden and Martin Freeman as two men connected through Alcoholics Anonymous whose relationship is tested by a revelation that threatens their fragile bond.
Directed by Finn den Hertog, the production was captured during its sold-out West End run at @sohoplace after premiering with National Theatre of Scotland.
On 22 October, National Theatre at Home will release a newly captured performance of War Horse, filmed during its recent return to the Olivier Theatre at the National Theatre.
Based on Michael Morpurgo’s bestselling novel and adapted by Nick Stafford, the award-winning production tells the story of Albert and his horse Joey during the First World War. Featuring the celebrated life-sized puppets created by Handspring Puppet Company and music by Adrian Sutton, War Horse remains the most successful play in National Theatre history.
Also arriving globally on 22 October is The Audience, starring Helen Mirren as Queen Elizabeth II.
Written by Peter Morgan and directed by Stephen Daldry, the Olivier and Tony Award-winning production was captured live in the West End in 2013 and became one of the most-watched National Theatre Live cinema broadcasts.
All productions available through National Theatre at Home include captions, while more than 90 per cent of titles are also offered with audio description.
