HOME and Les Enfants Terribles have announced the cast for the highly anticipated theatrical debut of Sophie Anderson’s The House with Chicken Legs. This beautiful, engaging and thought-provoking piece focuses on a young girl’s struggle with destiny, responsibility and grief.

The cast is led by Eve De Leon Allen as ‘Marinka’. They are joined by Lisa Howard as ‘Baba’, David Fallon as ‘Ben’; Matthew Burns as ‘Jackdaw’; Keshini Misha as ‘Nina’ and Pérola Congo as ‘Yaga’.

Marinka dreams of a normal life, where she can stay somewhere long enough to make friends; but there is one problem – her house has chicken legs and moves on without warning. For her grandmother is Baba Yaga who guides spirits from this world to the next. Marinka longs to change her destiny and break free from her grandmother’s footsteps, but her house has other ideas…

From the story’s folklore roots to Les Enfants Terribles distinctive style, the story is told through a blend of live music, striking puppetry, and a sprinkle of magic to immerse you in this Yaga world of spirits and secrets. Each actor comes to the production with their own unique set of skills to bring Alexander Wolfe’s original score Samuel Wyer’s puppetry to life.

Running between 29 March – 23 April 2022, the show is the latest creation of theatre company Les Enfants Terribles, the team behind the Olivier-nominated ‘Alice’s Adventures Underground’ and hailed by Time Out as “a company utterly sure of themselves and their own inimitable style”. 2022 marks Les Enfants Terribles 20th anniversary and The House with Chicken Legs is their first new stage show in 10 years.
