Passengers at St. Pancras International were treated to a magical surprise last week as twelve cast members from the critically acclaimed stage production of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe made a special appearance.

The cast, dressed in costume, performed musical numbers from the show including We’ll Meet Again, When There Was Spring (sung by Mr Tumnus), and The Lion Walks. The majestic puppet Aslan also made a special appearance, captivating onlookers.

Using acoustic instruments and the newly unveiled “St. Pancras Piano,” the actor-musicians transformed the International Concourse into a slice of Narnia. The station’s reputation for celebrating music and culture made it the perfect venue for this theatrical preview.

Adding to the spectacle was a specially commissioned floral sculpture of Aslan, created by Sophie Fieldsend Florals and Burnt Toast SFX, which stood proudly alongside the puppet.

This stunning production of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe is currently touring the UK and celebrates the 75th anniversary of C.S. Lewis’ beloved novel.

The cast who performed at St. Pancras International included Alfie Richards, Anya De Villiers, Ed Thorpe, Ffion Haf, Joe Keenan, Oliver Magor, Rhiannon Hopkins, Shane Antony-Whitely, Stanton Wright, and Elliot Clay. The Lion puppeteers are Rhodri Watkins, Andrew Davison, and Molly Francis.

Director Michael Fentiman said: “Our beautiful production of The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe celebrates the magic of live theatre and is led by a multi-talented cast of actors, singers, musicians, dancers and puppeteers. It is a celebration of the possibilities of the collective imagination and the boundless wonders of individual skill.”

Peter Martin-Jones, Head of Marketing at London St. Pancras Highspeed, added: “St. Pancras International is more than a transit hub; it’s a space where music, art, and culture come together to create unforgettable experiences. With our rich musical heritage, we’re excited to host The Lion, the Witch & the Wardrobe cast, bringing a touch of Narnia to this iconic venue. Moments like these showcase how St. Pancras International connects people through shared cultural experiences, making it a true gathering place for all.”

Audiences are invited to step through the wardrobe and join Lucy, Edmund, Susan and Peter on their journey from wartime Britain to the magical land of Narnia. There they’ll meet Mr Tumnus, talking beavers, the noble Aslan, and the fearsome White Witch.

The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe will play at Sadler’s Wells from 20 August to 7 September 2025, before continuing its UK tour.
