The smash-hit stage adaptation of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe returns to London this summer, celebrating the 75th anniversary of C.S. Lewis’ beloved novel.

The production will run at Sadler’s Wells from 20 August to 7 September 2025, with a press night scheduled for Thursday 31 August at 7pm.

As part of the Society of London Theatre’s Kids Week initiative, over 6,000 tickets will be available at half price. For selected performances, a child aged 17 and under goes free when accompanied by a full-paying adult, with two additional children eligible for half-price tickets.

Award-winning actor Katy Stephens stars as The White Witch and also takes on the role of Mrs Macready. Stephens is an Associate Artist with the Royal Shakespeare Company and was part of the Olivier Award-winning ensemble for the RSC’s Histories Cycle.

The Pevensie siblings are played by Joanna Adaran (Susan), Jesse Dunbar (Peter), Kudzai Mangombe (Lucy), and Bunmi Osadolor (Edmund).

Producer Chris Harper said: “We are delighted to welcome children and adults alike on this spectacular journey through the wardrobe, and are proud to be marking the 75th anniversary of the publication of CS Lewis’ novel with this production.”

Director Michael Fentiman added: “Our beautiful production of The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe celebrates the magic of live theatre and is led by a multi-talented cast of actors, singers, musicians, dancers and puppeteers. It is a celebration of the possibilities of the collective imagination and the boundless wonders of individual skill.”

Audiences will step through the wardrobe into the magical land of Narnia, where Lucy, Edmund, Susan and Peter encounter fauns, talking beavers, the noble lion Aslan, and the fearsome White Witch.

The production is directed by Michael Fentiman, based on the original by Sally Cookson. The creative team includes Tom Paris (Set and Costume Design), Barnaby Race and Benji Bower (Composers), Shannelle ‘Tali’ Fergus (Choreography), Jack Knowles (Lighting), Tom Marshall (Sound), Toby Olié and Max Humphries (Puppetry), Gwen Hales (Aerial), Jonathan Holby (Fight Direction), Chris Fisher (Illusions), and Ben Goddard (Musical Direction).

The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe is produced by Chris Harper Productions and Catherine Schreiber, and was originally staged at Leeds Playhouse. It previously ran in London’s West End at the Gillian Lynne Theatre from July 2022 to January 2023.
