Following a sold-out run in St Louis, Trompe l’Oeil will play an exclusive season at Contact, Manchester from 18 April to 2 May 2026.

This fast-paced 70-minute version reimagines previous Off-Broadway and London productions, blending queer theatre, circus acrobatics, and a modern twist on The Wizard of Oz.

The musical takes audiences on an American drag queen’s journey through a surreal landscape where art and politics collide, offering sharp social commentary with humour and heart.

Uniquely devised and written, the lyrics for Trompe l’Oeil include hidden messages within the songs, adding layers of meaning to the story.

Creator Henry Parkman Biggs said:
“I have never been more excited for a run of this musical – after the tremendous success of our St Louis run, with new circus components, I truly believe this version has something quite special to contribute to the musical canon.”
