The Unicorn Theatre has announced the full cast for Huddle, the much-loved family production from Filskit Theatre, which returns to the venue this Christmas following a sold-out run in 2024.

Created by Katy Costigan and Sarah Shephard of Filskit Theatre and directed by Shephard, Huddle will run from 27 November 2026 to 3 January 2027, with a press performance scheduled for 4 December at 1.30pm.

The production will star Sam Pay, whose previous credits include The BFG, alongside Rhiannon Skerritt, known for her work in The Box of Delights.

Designed specifically for children aged one to four, Huddle tells the heart-warming story of a penguin family learning to survive in the frozen landscape of Antarctica.

The show follows Mr Penguin as he receives a special delivery in the form of an egg and soon discovers the joys and challenges of parenthood when his chick hatches.

Combining playful performance, projection and sound, the production offers a highly visual theatre experience designed to engage the youngest audiences and their families.

The creative team includes original designer Maxwell Nicholson-Lailey, additional designer Rachel Baynton, lighting designer Ric Mountjoy, animator Ioanna Varsou, composer and sound designer Owen Crouch, and associate sound designer Yoyo Yao.

Sarah Shephard said, “We are over the moon to be bringing Huddle back to the Unicorn this Christmas. This show is very special to us as a company, and we feel honoured to be sharing it for the third time at one of our favourite venues. We can’t wait to introduce our Penguin pair to another new generation of theatre goers.”

Produced by the Unicorn Theatre and based on the company’s 2018 collaboration with Filskit Theatre, Huddle forms part of the venue’s continuing commitment to creating high-quality theatre experiences for young audiences.
