VAULT Creative Arts has announced the launch of Lower Marsh Arts Club (LowMAC), a new permanent venue opening this September in Waterloo.
Formerly known as The Glitch, the newly refurbished space marks the next stage in the organisation’s evolution following the closure of VAULT Festival in 2024.
VAULT Creative Arts was founded in 2021 out of VAULT Festival, which became one of London’s most significant platforms for emerging artists. In its final edition in 2023, the festival welcomed more than 100,000 audience members and staged nearly 2,000 performances across over 500 productions.
Following the loss of the festival’s home, the organisation turned its focus to The Glitch, transforming the venue into a year-round creative hub. Over the past year, it has hosted more than 400 shows and events while supporting over 1,000 artists.
From September, Lower Marsh Arts Club will host up to three performances each night, presenting theatre, comedy, cabaret and other live entertainment. Programming will be shaped through regular open call-outs designed to ensure opportunities remain accessible and affordable for artists.
The venue will also host three annual festivals, including the Highlight Festival for Fringe previews each July and a festival of new writing in November. Artist development programmes will continue to expand, including the Stephen Joseph Transfer scheme, which provides selected artists with the opportunity to transfer their work to The Cockpit.

VAULT Festival was such a vital part of the Fringe landscape in London. We want to honour that legacy – a brilliant, enticing festival providing unparalleled opportunities for artists, and amazing experiences for audiences – whilst also driving towards a brighter future. We’ve set the groundwork for this at The Glitch. And I’m now so looking forward to the new ways we can surpass this under our new identity, LowMAC. This will be a space where artists come first, and where we can meaningfully challenge and innovate on what early-career artists actually want and need to do their best work!”
Alongside its performance programme, Lower Marsh Arts Club will host regular social and networking events aimed at building community and creating meaningful opportunities for artists to develop their careers.
The Glitch will officially become Lower Marsh Arts Club on 7 September 2026.
