Vault Picks Week 2

This year sees the biggest ever VAULT Festival, and with over 300 shows to choose from the possibilities are endless.  We’ve picked five productions worth seeing in the first week.

NeverLand (Until 18th March)

Step into the chink of time between dusk and dark, awake and asleep, and join us on a journey to rediscover your lost child in the wonderful world of NeverLand.  Following VAULT 2017’s sell out, smash hit The Great Gatsby, The Guild of Misrule and Theatre Deli return with a Peter Pan-inspired new, immersive musical.  Dive into a dark and dangerous world of mermaids, rum and glittering pirates.

Revolution (Until 18th March)

Revolution has engulfed London and a new order must be established. The course of change never did run smooth though. Three rival factions have risen from the ashes of old authority and each must champion their cause in this new dawning of our civilization. This experience brings together gaming and interactive theatre, casting the audience as the protagonists of change in a city in turmoil.

Becoming Shades (until 18th March)

Enter the Underworld in this enthralling, intriguing and immersive circus re-imagining of Persephone’s presumed seduction by Hades.  Step down into the welcoming darkness of the Vaults in this all female story of empowerment, love and choices.  Journey with these ethereal beings, acrobats, aerialists and fire artists and share in their hopes and dreams, until you become one with the world of Shades.

After a sell-out run last year and winning the Origins Award for Outstanding new work, Becoming Shades returns to London’s biggest arts festival.

Blackout (Until 4th February)

Blackout  explores the fallout of a booze-soaked, ill-conceived one night stand. Social façades are brutally stripped away leaving both characters exposed in ways they never thought possible. Loaded with a barrage of twists and turns, this is a show for anybody who enjoys their theatre wrapped in generous layers of spine-tingling suspense.

Gypsy Queen (Until 4th February)

Two men who find themselves, and each other, in the most unlikely of worlds. Gypsy Queen is an unconventional love story between two fighters who discover the greatest challenge lies outside the ring.  A fast-paced two hander in which both actors play nine different characters between them, often with great comic effect.
