West End star Shanay Holmes has announced the release of her debut studio album BECOMING, set for release on 16 October 2026.
The album will be preceded by the release of its first single, No One Is Alone, on 10 July, with pre-orders opening the same day.
Best known for her acclaimed performance as Nancy in Oliver!, Holmes has crafted an album that combines eleven reimagined musical theatre classics with an original title track written by the performer herself.
Produced by Steve Anderson, whose previous credits include Westlife and Susan Boyle, BECOMING features new orchestral arrangements performed by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, offering fresh interpretations of some of musical theatre’s most beloved songs.
The album explores themes of hope, resilience, connection and belonging, bringing together songs including “The Sound of Music”, “People”, “Maybe This Time”, “Somewhere” and “Everything’s Coming Up Roses”.
Shanay Holmes said, “This album is about finding connection, purpose and the courage to keep believing despite adversity. At its heart is the idea that every moment—no matter how difficult— is shaping the person you are becoming.”
Across a career spanning more than fifteen years, Holmes has appeared in productions including Oliver!, Miss Saigon, Get Up, Stand Up!, The Bridges of Madison County, Rent and The Bodyguard.
The album’s orchestral arrangements have been created by Steve Anderson and Francis Goodhand, with Cliff Masterson conducting the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
BECOMING marks Holmes’ first studio album release and showcases her interpretation of some of the most iconic songs ever written for the stage, alongside new original material.
