The West End production of Wicked is celebrating Wicked Day 2026 with the announcement of a new For Good charity partnership with youth charity Ditch the Label, alongside the release of new production photography.
Wicked Day is an annual global celebration commemorating the original Broadway opening of Wicked in 2003. This year, productions around the world are marking the occasion from 30 October to 1 November.
As part of the initiative, the London production will raise funds for Ditch the Label through selected bar, merchandise and ticket sales across the three-day celebration period.
Ditch the Label supports young people with issues including bullying, mental health, relationships and identity. The charity provides free professional support through mentoring and counselling, while working with young people to help shape its services and programmes.
Young people from Ditch the Label’s Youth Advisory Boards were invited to attend Wicked’s 20th anniversary performance in London on 25 September.
Lucy Churchill, Head of Partnerships at Ditch the Label, said: “Wicked is a story about growth, finding your voice and becoming who you are meant to be. Young people growing up online today are doing the same thing, often under a lot of pressure. That shared belief in what young people can achieve with the right support is at the heart of this partnership.”
Charlotte McNally, 16, a member of Ditch the Label’s Youth Advisory Board, added: “I feel so lucky to have been part of this partnership, and as a lifelong theatre fan it’s so meaningful to see the values of inclusion and acceptance, shared by both Ditch the Label and the talented team behind Wicked, being celebrated and represented in such a big way through this collaboration.”
The current London company of Wicked stars Emma Kingston as Elphaba, Zizi Strallen as Glinda and Jordan Litz as Fiyero, alongside Claire Machin, Michael Matus, Ross Carpenter, Yara Fabricante, David McKechnie, Laura Emmitt and Lydia Gerrard.
Now in its landmark West End run at the Apollo Victoria Theatre, Wicked continues to tell the untold story of the Witches of Oz, featuring music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz and a book by Winnie Holzman, based on Gregory Maguire’s bestselling novel.
