Producers of Jonathan Larson’s Tony Award® and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical RENT have announced a major booking extension at the Tom Stoppard Theatre, with 35,000 additional tickets released and performances now on sale until 29 May 2027.
The extension comes in response to strong audience demand for the new West End production, which began preview performances on 26 September 2026 as part of celebrations marking 30 years since the musical first premiered on Broadway.
Set in New York’s East Village, RENT follows a group of young artists, musicians and friends as they navigate love, ambition and creativity while building lives on their own terms. Inspired by Puccini’s La Bohème, the musical has become one of the defining works of modern musical theatre, celebrated for its powerful score and enduring themes of community, connection and resilience.
The production stars Gaten Matarazzo as Mark, Travis Ross as Roger, Alexa Lopez as Mimi, Billy Nevers as Collins, Lazy Violet as Maureen, Danielle Fiamanya as Joanne, Jeevan Braich as Angel and Joaquin Pedro Valdes as Benny.
They are joined by Baylie Carson, Laura Delany, Ryesha Higgs, Montoya Holloway-Johnson, Rhys Hopkins, Shem Omari James, Hannah Macpherson, TJ Matara-Holloway, Ryan Nixon, Leah Vassell, James Wilkinson-Jones and Kevin Yates.
This new production is directed by Luke Sheppard, with choreography by Tom Jackson Greaves. The creative team also includes David Woodhead, Gabriella Slade, Howard Hudson, Paul Gatehouse, George Reeve, Nathan Amzi, Jackie Saundercock, Bill Sherman, Katy Richardson, Asha Jennings-Grant, Priya Patel Appleby and Joe Trill.
Produced in the West End by Chris Harper Productions, Sonia Friedman Productions, Winkler & Smalberg and Julie Larson in association with Hope Mill Theatre, the production continues to bring Larson’s landmark musical to a new generation of theatregoers.
