New rehearsal images have been released for the upcoming West End revival of RENT, Jonathan Larson’s Tony Award-winning and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical, directed by Olivier Award winner Luke Sheppard.
The production begins performances at the Tom Stoppard Theatre on 26 September 2026, bringing Larson’s landmark musical back to the heart of the West End.
The cast is led by Gaten Matarazzo as Mark, alongside Travis Ross as Roger and Alexa Lopez as Mimi. They are joined by Billy Nevers, Lazy Violet, Olivier Award nominee Danielle Fiamanya, Jeevan Braich and Joaquin Pedro Valdes.
Also appearing in the production are Baylie Carson, Laura Delany, Ryesha Higgs, Montoya Holloway-Johnson, Rhys Hopkins, Shem Omari James, Hannah Macpherson, TJ Matara-Holloway, Ryan Nixon, Leah Vassell, James Wilkinson-Jones and Kevin Yates.
RENT features music, lyrics and book by Jonathan Larson and follows a group of young artists navigating life, love and friendship in New York City.
Luke Sheppard directs the new production, with choreography by Tom Jackson Greaves. The creative team also includes set designer David Woodhead, costume designer Gabriella Slade, lighting designer Howard Hudson and sound designer Paul Gatehouse.
Video design and cinematography are by George Reeve and Nathan Amzi, while Jackie Saundercock serves as make-up and hair designer. Musical supervision is by Bill Sherman, with Katy Richardson as musical director and associate musical supervisor.
The West End production is produced by Chris Harper Productions, Sonia Friedman Productions, Winkler & Smalberg and Julie Larson in association with Hope Mill Theatre.
Originally produced on Broadway by Jeffrey Seller, Kevin McCollum, Allan S. Gordon and New York Theatre Workshop, RENT remains one of the most celebrated musicals of the modern era.
