A West End transfer has been announced for the critically acclaimed production of Abigail’s Party, starring Tamzin Outhwaite and Kevin Bishop.

Directed by Nadia Fall, the Theatre Royal Stratford East revival of Mike Leigh’s classic play will run at the Harold Pinter Theatre from Wednesday 12 August to Saturday 19 September 2026, following a UK national tour.

Tamzin Outhwaite takes on the iconic role of Beverly, while Kevin Bishop stars as Laurence, leading a cast that also includes Pandora Colin as Sue, Omar Malik as Tony, and Lauren Patel as Angela.

Written by Mike Leigh, Abigail’s Party is a sharp and darkly comic exploration of suburban life, class, and social tensions in 1970s England.

Set in Essex in 1977, the play follows hostess Beverly as she invites her neighbours for drinks, only for the evening to spiral into awkward exchanges, emotional revelations, and simmering conflicts.

First developed through improvisation with its original cast and premiering at Hampstead Theatre in 1977, the play became a cultural landmark after its BBC television adaptation, and has since remained a staple of British theatre.

Director Nadia Fall, Artistic Director of the Young Vic, brings her acclaimed vision to the production following its success at Theatre Royal Stratford East.

The creative team includes set and costume design by Peter McKintosh, lighting design by Howard Harrison, sound design by Alexandra Faye Braithwaite, movement direction by James Cousin, and casting by Amy Ball CDG.
