Assembly Festival has unveiled a major new batch of productions for this year’s Edinburgh Festival Fringe, featuring global smash-hit Stamptown alongside an array of comedy, theatre, music and dance favourites.
The latest announcement adds more than 90 shows to the 2026 programme, promising a summer packed with international talent, homegrown stars and family-friendly entertainment.
The cult phenomenon Stamptown, led by Zach Zucker, will take over the Spiegeltent in George Square Gardens with its trademark blend of comedy, clowning and absolute chaos.
Comedy fans can look forward to new work from some of the biggest names at the Fringe. Mike Wozniak brings The Bench to Assembly, while David O’Doherty debuts a fresh hour. Jason Byrne celebrates three decades of stand-up with a special anniversary show, and Jack Dee marks 40 years in comedy with a memoir-style performance reflecting on his favourite jokes and stories.
Rising comedy stars Gearoid Farrelly, Grace Mulvey, MC Hammersmith and Robin Grainger all present new solo pieces, adding to an already packed comedy line-up.
Australian favourite Scout Boxall appears with God’s Favourite following their 2025 Pinder Prize win. Their award now supports the production’s Edinburgh run.
American actor and comic David Magidoff makes his Fringe debut with Making Love with David Magidoff, an improvised musical featuring celebrity guests including Fran Healy and Rosie Jones. The show arrives following a three-year sold-out streak in Los Angeles.
Dance, cabaret and physical theatre sit at the heart of the programme. Flamenc Oh! blends flamenco, comedy and physical theatre, while Fringe favourites YUCK Circus present Naughties, a high-energy throwback packed with acrobatics and 2000s nostalgia.
ARIA Award winner Bridie Connell brings FUCCBOIS, a sharp musical satire about the world’s greatest boyband you’ve never heard of.
Poet Brian Bilston, dubbed the ‘Poet Laureate of Twitter’, offers a new show exploring the joy of poetry and why it continues to outshine AI.
Burlesque and drag collide in the return of Swamplesque, plus Matt Tedford’s beloved Maggie is back in Margaret Thatcher Queen of Hollywood, a drag musical from the team behind Kathy and Stella Solve A Murder.
Physical comedy fans can enjoy Soho Theatre’s Underground Monk Show, featuring John Norris and Max Baumgarten, alongside the medieval mayhem of Nuns!.
Cabaret star Miss Frisky returns with Remix Roulette, an interactive concert where the audience determines the genre and the band plays anything thrown at them.
As part of this year’s Made in Scotland showcase, Arcana blends story, sound and visuals in a magical coming-of-age tale created by Fay Guiffo.
Assembly also revealed this year’s ART Award winners. Jack MacGregor’s Prophets takes the top prize, with BearGirl announced as runner-up. Both productions will premiere at the Fringe with Assembly’s support.
These additions join previously announced shows including Susie McCabe, Hot Dub Time Machine, Krapp’s Last Tale, Ten Thousand Hours, Shotgunned and Mythos: Ragnarök.
Celebrating its 45th season, Assembly returns to six venues across Edinburgh from 5 to 31 August. The festival operator continues its long-standing tradition of bringing world-class entertainment to the city each summer.
